We transformed our hall into an elegant candlelit dining area and served wine and
cheese and a large selection of appetizers.
Our appetizers represented a broad spectrum of international flavours and also presented local seafood delicacies. People were amazed at the amount and quality of the appetizers and we heard people say they wished they hadn`t eaten dinner before the event.
In addition, our volunteers ran a silent auction
with a wide variety of collectibles and local art.
Those scanning the auction were treated to light classical music played on our
baby grand piano.
The community rallied behind our efforts and several people who couldn`t attend
donated to the cause. It was wonderful to see so many people from various groups and
backgrounds enjoy the event and share food and conversation.
We were asked if we could make this an annual event or even hold it more than once a
